Projected future changes in river flows across West Africa

Hydrological model HMF-WA estimates of projected changes in monthly mean river flows (m³s^-1) for the high flow season across West Africa (August to November) and % change in annual maximum (peak) river flows on a 0.1° × 0.1° (~10km) grid are provided for 3 CMIP5 RCPs and 3 CMIP6 SSP-RCPs.

The 25^th, 50^th (median) and 75^th percentiles of projected changes are available for:

• CMIP5: 20 RCP2.6, 27 RCP4.5 and 29 RCP8.5 ensemble members
• CMIP6: 14 SSP126, 15 SSP245 and 15 SSP585 ensemble members

Projected changes in flows have been calculated between present day (1970–1999) and future periods (2005–2099 for CMIP5 and 2015–2100 for CMIP6).
